Gyokuro Super Premium Zen Haruto Bio

This Gyokuro from Asahina is one of the best Gyokuros in Japan. The tea garden of three-time Gyokuro world champion Tohei Maejima is located in Okabe. As a third-generation Gyokuro master, Tohei Maejima is over 80 years old and specializes in producing the very best Gyokuro. Some of the tea plants are covered with traditional, home-made rice straw mats about 4 weeks before harvesting. The plants are better ventilated under the rice straw and the rain allows the tea plants to retain valuable ingredients and aromas from the rice straw.
